yippy, I am getting a new to me sewing machine... its a Pfaff creative 1471, identical to my Mum's, its very exciting, and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. Its got some neat features like dual feed which means that both the top and bottom layers of fabric thread through at the same pace, so no more puckered seams, yippy.
Its also got needle down which will be useful for sewing long seams and corners as I will not have to manually put the needle into the fabric to pivot for corners. I am really excited about having a computerised machine too, it will be neat to challenge my skills a bit more.
so yay for new machines and yay to lovely parents who are helping me to purchase it.

I've got my Mum's old Pfaff, which I think was new in about 1983. So it's getting on, but still going strong enough for my purposes (mostly mending).
Note to self: must start thinking about teaching my daughters how to sew. (NB: I don't have sons, and if I did, I would be teaching them too.)
this one is around and 1985 model, old but a great machine, Mum loves her one, I will save up for something better... My hubby sews, he was better than me when we first met, I decided that i was happy with him being a better cook than me but sewing was something I was going to be better at lol....
I am thinking about teaching miss nearly 7 soon, just simple stuff like sewing on paper without it threaded.... might even draw lines for her to follow to see how close she can go, and mr 2 will be taught when he is old enough too
